
On June 27, Shen Ruihong, Deputy General Manager of SINOMACH Group, conducted an inspection and research tour at the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen Phase II (hereinafter referred to as NSCC-SZ Phase II), a project for which China IPPR undertook the overall design and general contracting work. Wang Bo, Assistant to the President of SINOMACH Group and Chairman of both SINOMACH Engineering Group and CAMCE, accompanied the inspection.
Shen Ruihong and his entourage inspected the construction achievements of the project on site, and learned in detail about the overall design philosophy of NSCC-SZ Phase II as well as the construction and operation status of the Lingsheng supercomputer. They held in-depth exchanges with supercomputing experts and the project design team on hot industry topics including the development trends, operational efficiency and energy consumption of supercomputing facilities.
Shen Ruihong spoke highly of the achievements delivered by China IPPR’s team in undertaking the overall design and general contracting of the project, especially its technical research capabilities demonstrated in tackling the high energy consumption challenges of exascale supercomputers. He pointed out that China IPPR’s participation in the construction of the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen led by design and supported by technology represents an important practice of leveraging SINOMACH’s strengths to serve major national strategies and underpin new-type industrialization with high-level core technologies. He put forward three requirements for follow-up work:
First, hone core strengths to support the development of domestic computing power. It is necessary to strengthen collaborative advantages, continuously boost SINOMACH Group’s core competitiveness in high-end computing infrastructure, and fuel the high-quality development of China’s supercomputing industry.
Second, accumulate technical achievements and strengthen the leading role of scientific research and technologies. Accelerate the transformation of technological advantages into edge in standards and brand influence, and contribute greater strength to further advancing the national East Data, West Computing strategy.
Third, cultivate high-caliber talents and foster leading experts at a faster pace. Encourage key technical personnel to grow through frontline practical work, temper their professional capabilities relying on major projects including NSCC-SZ Phase II, develop into industry-leading specialists as soon as possible, and forge an elite team of high-end industrial design professionals under SINOMACH.

Phase II of the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen is situated in the core zone of major science facilities at Guangming Science City, with a total construction area of 130,000 square meters. The project is equipped with the domestically-developed Lingsheng exascale supercomputer featuring fully independent intellectual property rights.To address the challenge of extremely high energy consumption brought by exascale computing power, China IPPR adopted a 14-circuit 20kV power distribution system in the design. High-voltage direct current power supply plus full-link redundancy technologies build an efficient and reliable power core for the center. Meanwhile, drawing on core full-liquid cooling technologies, the project delivers the world’s largest centralized liquid cooling system. It restructures the computing power base with ultra-high energy efficiency, providing green and stable engineering support for the Lingsheng supercomputer. The project stands as a key practice of SINOMACH Group in supporting national computing infrastructure development and high-end industrial design.
